WELCOME TO MARIA’S HOMEMADE FARE

Do you remember when you went your grandmother’s house, and there was always the scent of something GOOD cooking on the stove - that no matter what it was, it would taste delicious and probably be a product harvested from her garden or fruit trees?

Well, here at Maria’s Homemade Fare, we’ve kept that sort of memory alive and well! From growing as much of the fruit and vegetables as possible for our products, to processing them in the old-fashioned way with proper “canning” jars and two-part lids, Maria’s goodies are just that – homemade fare.  They make wonderful gifts and great, healthy snacks because at Maria’s Homemade Fare we don’t put preservatives in ANY of our foods. That is what “Home-Canning” creates, great taste without any extra junk.

Our salsa has tomatoes, bell peppers, and jalapenos that are grown on the small 10-acre farm we’ve owned and worked for 18 years. The apple butters are slow-cooked with fruit from trees on our farm. We also have pear trees and raise zucchini on our farm for the breads offered.

The varieties of jam that we offer are made with fruit that is raised and purchased locally whenever possible.

We are also very proud to offer a unique product to the public –ALREADY BAKED BREAD-IN-A-JAR. Yes, we bake the four different types of bread directly inside their respective jars! Once the bread has completed its baking process, as we pull it from the oven we immediately put the lid and ring on the jar of bread. The heat of a “canning” jar that has been baking at 350 degrees for over an hour, combined with the yeast and heat of the bread causes the lid to seal within 3 minutes. This procedure seals in the moisture of the bread and prevents molding, so the product can safely sit on a cupboard shelf for up to a year without fear of ruining. Whenever you are ready to eat, simply unseal the lid, run a butter-knife around the inner wall of the jar, and slide the bread out onto a plate! We offer pumpkin bread, banana-nut bread, zucchini bread, and pear pecan bread.

Whatever your cravings happen to be, know that if we offer it, your product is made with pride right here on location in Greenbrier, Arkansas. If you are in our area, please stop in to visit...our store offers a wider variety of goodies than online, and we’ll be glad to talk for a minute or two!
